John S. Garrison is a Professor of English at Grinnell College, with a focus on Renaissance literature and culture. Prior to joining academia, he worked in a variety of organizations focused on social justice, including the Levi Strauss Foundation, Kaiser Permanente Hospital Foundation, and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. Garrison is co-editor of three essay collections and author of five books, as well as the co-editor of the book series Spotlight on Shakespeare. He is the recipient of numerous fellowships and prizes, including two grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and a 2021 Guggenheim Fellowship.
