John S. Garrison is a Professor of English at Grinnell College, with a focus on Renaissance literature and culture. Prior to joining academia, he worked in a variety of organizations focused on social justice, including the Levi Strauss Foundation, Kaiser Permanente Hospital Foundation, and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. Garrison is co-editor of three essay collections and author of five books, as well as the series Spotlight on Shakespeare. He is the recipient of numerous fellowships and prizes, including two grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and a 2021 Guggenheim Fellowship.
